The Framework component of the Architecture addresses functional data structures and processing: securities transactions, settlement, P&L, the stock record, and similar topics. Supporting this is a group of design decisions, infrastructure components, and development approaches that constitute the Technical Foundation.
An important part of the approach is to be able to understand, adapt, and extend the component to new business requirements. These topics are discussed under the Technical Foundation as well.
Topics within the Technical Foundation are:
|Temporal Independence||This refers to the design goal of having the system treat all days (past, present, and future) equivalently.|
|Adapting the Framework||Guide to adapting elements of the Framework to existing systems.|
|Extending the Framework||Guide to expanding the use of the Framework within the Architecture.|
