Andrew Weigel

Andrew Weigel is the founder and President of Eclipse Software. He has over 30 years' experience in the analysis, design, and development of business application software.

The first part of Andrew's career was focused on accounting and finance software development, first in industry where he was the project leader for Burroughs' Financial Database system. He then spent eight years working for an accounting software vendor, specializing in general ledger and finance applications. He had responsibility for software design and development, marketing support, and customer support. He also started and managed the consulting group.

Andrew has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry. In addition to developing a comprehensive securities trading and accounting system for NatWest, he has done work for a variety of brokerage firms, commercial banks, retail banks, and insurance companies.

Professionally, Andrew has participated in the development of a number of IEEE standards, including ones on object-oriented methods and software requirements specifications. He has held offices in the New York City Section of the IEEE Computer Society, led study groups on design patterns, and published articles on program performance.

Andrew graduated from Caltech with a degree in Biology. He has Master's degrees in Mathematics from NYU's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences and in Business Administration from the University of Colorado (Colorado Springs).
